Information about devices with touch-screen

Multi-touch issues on Chromebooks and Lenovo Yogas can be complex due to the touch interaction pieces and cross-browser compatibility. We recommend that users with multi-touch devices use the cursor while completing assessments. Using the touch functionality, or switching back and forth between cursor and touch, can cause errors in graphing, number-line plotting, or drag-and-drop answers. Below is a list of known issues with the Big Ideas Math Dynamic Assessment System and these types of devices. These issues are not with the Big Ideas Math website as a whole.

Summary Description Known Affected Devices Affected Browsers
Image-tool on Windows touch Image-tools (protractors/rulers) cannot be dragged on Windows touch devices, including hybrid touch.
  • Lenovo Yoga
  • Windows tablet
  • Chrome
  • IE11*
Cannot drag calculator The calculator feature cannot be dragged on Windows touch devices in IE11.
  • Lenovo Yoga
  • Windows tablet
  • Asus hybrid touch laptop
  • MS Surface
IE11*
Graphs Number lines do not work with touch-screens. It is not possible to finish the polygon (connect the last dots) by using touch to plot the polygon. For example, you can draw a line using your mouse or touch, but with touch you cannot move it or change the size. When you touch a point to move it, it does not respond to the mouse either. • Chrome (If you use just the touch-screen or mouse, it works well. The problem starts when you switch between mouse and touch. Once you start using the touch-screen, it does not let you use the mouse again.)
  • IE11*
Drag-and-drop questions broken on Firefox for hybrid laptops Drag-and-drop questions do not work using touch on hybrid devices.
  • Lenovo Yoga
