Manually Link to Your Cengage eBook From Schoology

Do not use this procedure if your Schoology course is integrated with Cengage courseware like MindTap, SAM, or WebAssign.

  1. Get the ISBN of the eBook you want your students to use.

  2. Open your Schoology course.

  3. Click Updates.

  4. Write an announcement linking to the eBook.

    1. Enter a message in the message field.

      To access your Cengage eBook, sign in with your Cengage email address and password (not your Schoology credentials).

    2. To add a link, click Link.

    3. In Link/Embed, type the following address:

      https://gateway.cengage.com/rest/launchBasicLTI/etext/ISBN

      Substitute your eBook ISBN number for ISBN.

      For example:

      https://gateway.cengage.com/rest/launchBasicLTI/etext/9781305224216

    4. Enter your eBook title in Title.

    5. Click Attach.

  5. Click Post.

Your message displays to students when they sign in to Schoology.
