Import Blackboard Course Settings and Content

After you have exported Blackboard® course settings and content to a file, you can import the file into one or more Blackboard courses that are not linked with MindTap.

Important Don't import into a Blackboard course that is already linked with a MindTap course.
  1. Navigate to the course into which you want to copy your exported course data.
  2. In the Course Management panel, click Control Panel > Packages and Utilities > Import Package / View Logs.
  3. Click Import Package.
  4. Click Browse My Computer and select the export package you downloaded.
  5. Under Select Course Materials, click Select All.
  6. Click Submit.

Because this can take some time to complete, Blackboard queues it for processing in the background so you can still do other work.

When complete, you will be notified per your notification settings.

  7. Navigate to the copied content area in your new course.

The MindTap links from your original course are shown, but your new course has not yet been created in MindTap.

  8. To create your MindTap course, click a MindTap link.

You can click either a link to the course itself or to a specific activity.

To link a MindTap section you already created:

(for example, with course masters and sections)

    Time Zone

Assignment dates and times are based on the time zone you select.

Set the start date to the first day of class. It is the first day students can access your course and the beginning of your students' temporary access period. It cannot be changed after students access the course.

    Course end date

To allow your students to view their grades and complete late work, consider setting this 1 week after the last day of class.

    1. Click Finish.
  3. Optional: Select Copy all activity dates from course.
  4. Click Continue.
