Before adding links to MindTap activities, make sure your MindTap course is set up the way you want it.
- Add and organize the assigned activities and course materials for your MindTap course.
- Configure assignment settings such as grading, attempts, feedback, time limits, due dates, point values, and grade categories.
Links created in this way are sometimes called deep links because they are not just web links but allow data to be exchanged between Canvas and MindTap.
Open your Canvas course.
From the course navigation, click Cengage.
If you get an error message when you click Cengage, see the following:
Select your linked MindTap course from the list of content sources.
A list of assigned activities for your linked MindTap course is shown.
Click Select Content and select activities to include in your class.
Graded activities that have already been added are marked
. To avoid duplicate activity links and gradebook columns, do not import the same activity twice.Due dates set in your MindTap course are synced to Canvas. If your school uses a Canvas Partner integration, available dates are also synced to Canvas.
Date changes in your MindTap course overwrite dates set in your Canvas course. For consistency, make sure your MindTap and Canvas courses are set to the same time zone.
If needed, change gradebook syncing for specific activities.
By default, when you include a graded activity it is added to the Canvas gradebook.
To remove an activity from the gradebook, clear Add to Gradebook.
To sync an activity to the gradebook without creating an activity link, first select Add to Gradebook and then clear the Add to Course checkbox on the left.
Scores sync automatically when assignment attempts are submitted in MindTap and when you enter or edit scores in your MindTap gradebook.
Click Continue.
The selected links are added to the module.
If needed, you can reorganize the links in Canvas.
