Create a new training assignment by copying and editing an existing training assignment.
- From MindTap, click + Add / Create > Activity > SAM-Assignment.

Click Training.
The Training page lists all existing training assignments.
To do this Do this View training assignments from this course. Click Training in this course. View training assignments from other courses. Click Other Training. Sort the list Click a column heading. Preview a training Click beside the training name. Find a specific training Type part of the training name in the search box. - Click next to your assignment.

You cannot edit the content version.

- Copying training that has an existing companion exam does not make a copy of that exam. To create a companion exam for your copied training assignment, select Auto-generate companion exam.
- Click Next Step.
- Optional: Edit your textbook selections.
- If you selected a textbook, click Make all SAM tasks available or select chapters to assign tasks from. Then, click Next Step.
- Optional:
Add or remove tasks used in your assignment.
Adding or removing any tasks from the training also adds or removes them from the companion exam.

Click Save.
To save the training to be assigned later, click Done.
To assign the training now:
- Click Schedule.

Complete the assignment and
scheduling options.
- Assignment Name
- Unique name for your assignment.
- Practice
- The assignment does not affect student grades.
- Start Training on Apply Mode
- Students initially attempt tasks without assistance. They can access step-by-step instructions and demonstrations as needed.
- Instructions
- Additional instructions for students.
- Specify password for student access
- Prevent students from starting until they enter a
password that you provide.
Best Practice Leave this field blank and set a password in the Assign to Course window. Passwords set in that step are easier to retrieve and edit.
- Click Schedule.

In the Editing
Activity window, set the activity title, description, dates, and location in the
learning path to assign the activity to your course.
- Title
- Label for the activity in the learning path.
- Description
- Information or instructions displayed when the activity is opened.
- Require Password
- Password protection for scoreable activities to prevent students from accessing them ahead of time.
- Available Date
- When students can start work on the activity.
- Due Date
- When students must end work on the activity.
- Associated Topic
- Textbook topic related to the activity.
- Order Within Topic
- Position in the learning path under the specified topic.
- Click Add.
