Account Types in Keyboarding in SAM

Each Keyboarding in SAM account has a role—Supervisor, Administrator, Instructor, or Student—that restricts access only to the actions needed for the role. Section creators and owners can perform additional actions for their sections.

Non-Student Roles

Section Creators and Owners

Additional actions are available to the creator or owner of a section that are not allowed for other instructors.

Student Role

Students can:
  • Access the student version of Keyboarding in SAM
  • Complete their own assignments
  • View their own scores and grades per instructor settings
  • Update their own user account
Students can not:
  • Access instructor, administrator, or supervisor features or views
  • Create or manage other user accounts
