If your LTI 1.0 LMS is not otherwise specified, the following steps apply to any LTI
1.0 compliant LMS.
Copy an existing SAM course to a new LMS course. You can copy your own SAM course or another instructor's course.
To copy another instructor's course, ask the instructor for the course key of the course to be copied.
In the SAM course, the course
instructor can click to see the course key.
Important You can copy LMS-integrated
SAM courses only.
Before you begin, your LMS administrator must have set up the Cengage tool in your LMS, and you must have received an email from Cengage containing a Cengage Course URL.

Open your LMS course.

Create a link to the Cengage tool.
You only have to do this once.

Navigate to your external tools.
Third party content like Cengage is listed as an
external tool or app in your LMS.

Click the Cengage link.
This might be named Cengage
or
MindLinks
. If you are not sure, ask your LMS admin.

In the URL field, paste the Cengage Course URL from
your email.

Click Save.

Click the link you created.

If prompted, sign in to your
Cengage instructor account to link your LMS and Cengage accounts.
If you don't have a Cengage instructor
account, click Create Account.

Click Add Homework Platform.

Select the textbook or product you want to use from the available course
content.
- To search the available content,
type a search term.
- To see only SAM results, click
Filter and set Filter By
to SAM.
- To filter the list by license
type, click Filter and set the dropdown to
Student Purchase Required or Inclusive
Access.
- To select an item, click
Link to Course.
The selected title is shown with SAM course
creation and linking options.

Select the course to be copied.

Select Copy one of my existing Cengage/SAM courses (including its assignments).

Select the course or section to copy.
To copy another instructor's course:

Click Copy a colleague's existing Cengage/SAM course (including its assignments).

Enter the Course Key for the course you want to
copy and click Verify.

Complete the details for your SAM course.

This date is both the first day students can
access your course and the beginning of your students' temporary
access period. It cannot be changed after students access the
course.

To allow your

Assignment dates and times are based on the time zone you

Click Continue.

Click the link to your SAM course and verify
that it's set up how you want.
If prompted, read and accept the service agreement.
