Projects

SAM Assignments

Projects are SAM assignment types that require students to work in the appropriate Microsoft Office® application.

Microsoft Office
To complete SAM Project assignments, your students must use the correct installed or online version of Microsoft Office for the assigned project type.
SAM Project Workflow
To complete SAM project assignments, your students download a start file, follow instructions to perform the project tasks in the Office application, and upload the changed file to be graded.
Textbook Projects
SAM textbook projects are a subset of projects that encourage students to read their books. They may not be graded as rigorously or precisely as regular SAM projects and some steps covered in the books may not be graded. Textbook projects grade the chapter tutorial in the introductory-level chapters of Shelly Cashman, New Perspectives, and Illustrated textbooks, and help you verify that students are reading.

Assign a project to your class.
Student Achievement Badges
Award shareable badges to students who earn 90% and above on assignments labeled Badge available. Badges are available for capstone projects and MOS practice exams for Office 365®/2021 and newer content versions.
