Accessibility and preference options

Here you can learn how to change your preferences and how to make Human Anatomy Atlas 2021 more accessible.

Human Anatomy Atlas offers many different accessibility and preference options. These are in the settings menu at the bottom right of any screen.

  1. Background

Choose from black, white or grey backgrounds to adjust for your lighting conditions.

  2. Male/female model

Atlas features complete female and male anatomy models. This setting toggles between them.

  3. Show Gestures (mobile only)

This feature highlights user input with a blue circle.

  4. Closed captioning

This feature will turn on subtitles that match the audio. Subtitles are turned on by default in languages other than English.

  5. 60 FPS (iPhone and iPad only)

The app comes by default set to 30 frames per second to save battery for mobile users. For users with sensitivity to fast or jerky movements, this setting can be adjusted to FPS 60 and the models will appear to move more smoothly.

  6. Font size

Change the font size to make text in appear larger or smaller.

  7. Language

Human Anatomy Atlas supports seven different languages: English, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish.

  8. On start-up

This setting lets you jump right back to where you were in the app, or get a fresh start. There's also a third option to ask which one you want to do every time you open the app.

  9. Blank Tags

This setting removes the text from the tags feature. This allows users to create worksheets and self-study cards by tagging multiple structures with blank tags, and later filling in the blanks themselves.

  10. High quality (web only)

Turn this on for the best versions of the 3D models, or turn it off to save some memory and loading time.
