Activate Your WebAssign Account

Activate your WebAssign account so your course coordinator can add you to your course sections.

  1. Go to login.cengage.com.
  2. Click Create Account.
  3. When asked if you're a student, click No.
  4. Enter the requested information.
  5. Read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  6. Click Verify.

    Cengage uses SheerID® to verify your identity and role as an instructor to prevent fraudulent account creation. Many users are instantly verified.

    If you are not instantly verified, SheerID will email you. Follow the instructions in the email to get verified. If you are instantly verified, you will receive an activation email instead.
  7. Open the activation email and click Activate Cengage Account.
    Your Cengage account is created.
  8. Sign in to your Cengage account at login.cengage.com.
  9. On the sidebar, click My Library and search for the WebAssign title associated with your course.
  10. Click + My Library to add the title to your account.
  11. On the sidebar, click My Library.
  12. Click Manage Courses under the WebAssign title you added.
    A pop-up redirects you to your My Classes page in WebAssign. Classes won't show on this page because this is your first time accessing WebAssign.
Your WebAssign account is activated.
After you finish these steps, ask your course coordinator to assign you to your sections in WebAssign.
