Grades 3-5: Assessment Length and Calculator Usage
For Grades 3-5, the Pre-Course and Post-Course tests are two sessions, while the Quarter 1, Quarter 2, and Quarter 3 tests are only one session. Calculators should not be offered, unless required by a student’s accommodations. Under Tools, leave Calculator unchecked.
Grades 6-8: Assessment Length and Calculator Usage
For Grades 6-8, there will be 8-10 sessions throughout the school year due to the length of each assessment, now including some of the quarterly assessments.
Calculators are now allowed for certain assessments. Please refer to the Appendix to determine when a calculator is allowed.
- For Grade 6, use the Four Function calculator.
- For Grades 7 and 8, use the Scientific calculator.
Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2: Assessment Length and Calculator Usage
For Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, there will be 7-9 sessions throughout the school year due to the length of each assessment, again including some of the quarterly assessments.
Calculators are again allowed for certain assessments. Please refer to the Appendix to determine when a calculator is allowed.
- Only Scientific calculators should be selected.
- Graphing calculators are provided at point of use in the question, when needed.
