Create a MindTap Course in NGLSync

Create a MindTap course from your NGLSync dashboard.

Note If your district uses Cengage bulk rostering services or a Single Sign-On (SSO) experience, your courses will be created and managed for you. Only instructors whose districts use self-enrollment or Google Classroom should create their own courses.

If you don't know if you should create a course in NGLSync, contact your technology coordinator.

Note These instructions are for K-12 teachers who use NGLSync to manage their MindTap courses.
  1. If needed, sign in to the NGLSync Portal at nglsync.cengage.com.
  2. In the upper-right hand corner, click Welcome your name > Go To Dashboard.
    Your NGLSync dashboard opens.
  3. On the My Account & Courses tab, click Create Course.
  4. Select a product and click Next.

    You can scroll through the products purchased by your district, or search by name and ISBN.

  5. Enter your course name, start date, and end date.
    You can edit this information later.
  6. Optional: To prevent students from automatically joining your course after a certain date, turn on Limit Open Enrollment and enter an Open Enrollment End Date.
    Tip Limiting open enrollment deters cheating from students with duplicate accounts.

    If a student tries to join your course after your chosen end date, you will receive an email notification and can approve or deny their request.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Review your course information and click Next.
Your course is created in your learning platform and shown on your NGLSync Dashboard and Portal.
