Frequently Asked Questions Can I change the due date or time limit of an assignment for an individual student?Yes, you can change the due date or give extra time for individual students. Why are the total points possible not the same for every student?Activities without due dates are not included in the points possible until they are completed. For this reason, the total points possible for each student depends on the activities completed by that student. Why am I seeing a submission date later than the due date? The timestamp for automatically submitted activities is sometimes later than the actual due date and time and reflects the time when the automatic process happened to run. Automatically submitted activities are identified as such when you view them. Can I import new assignments or students from a spreadsheet? No, new assignments and students are added through MindTap. What's the difference between deleting an attempt and removing a score?Deleting an attempt removes an individual attempt, often in order to allow the student another attempt. The student's activity score is recalculated based on whatever attempts remain. In contrast, removing a score does not provide the student any more attempts and is used to drop the activity from grade calculations for the student. Can I create a Cengage account without an email address? In most cases, you are required to use an email address as your Cengage username. There are situations, including accounts for K–12 students using NGLSync, when using an email address is not advisable or permitted. Some features, such as username recovery, password resets, and email notifications, can't be used without an email address associated with your account. How do I share a video with my students? To share a YouTube video, use WebVideo Search to find a YouTube video and assign it as an activity. To share a video from a site other than YouTube, create a Web Link activity with a link to the video. How do I link to Kaltura content?Create a web link activity with a link to your Kaltura content. MindTap no longer supports the Kaltura app, but you can include the same content in your course by providing links to Kaltura in web link activities.
