Charts and Graphs

Use the Charts and Graphs tab to visualize your selected dataset.

  1. Click the graph type you want to create.

    Graph types include:

    • Histogram
    • Box Plot
    • Dot Plot
    • Scatter Plot
    • Bar Chart
    • Pie Chart
  2. Under Settings, set Variable to Graph to the variable whose data you want to analyze.

Depending on the graph type, this variable might need to be numerical or categorical. If needed, edit it to change the type.

For scatter plots, this is the x-value.

  3. If needed, set Grouping Variable to the variable by which to group the data.

Not required for all graph types.

Depending on the graph type, this variable might need to be numerical or categorical. If needed, edit it to change the type.

For scatter plots, this is the y-value.

For other graph types, the grouping variable creates two graphs for comparison.

  4. Optional: For histograms:
    1. Change the Bin / Class Width (class interval).
    2. Change the Starting Point (left endpoint of the leftmost bin or class interval).
    3. Click Recalculate Bins.
  5. Optional: For scatter plots, clear or select Regression Line to hide or show the regression line.

The selected graph is displayed.

Below the graph, a summary table of the selected data is displayed. You might need to scroll to see the tabular data.

If needed, click beside a variable to clear it.
