Add Comments on Manually Graded Activities

Leave feedback on student responses at both the question and activity level.

Before you begin

This task is different depending on the version of MindTap used in your class.

If these directions do not match what you see in your class, click MindTap version in the toolbar above and select your MindTap version.

  1. In the toolbar, click Progress.
  2. To display only activities that require manual grading, click Needs Manual Grading.

  3. Locate your activity and click Grade Now.

    Manually graded activities display Manually Graded.

  4. Click a student's name from the list on the left to view their submission.
  5. To leave a written comment on a question page:
    1. Select a question from the Question list.
    2. Click Add Comment on the question page.
    3. Enter your comment and click Post Comment.

      In world language courses, click special character button to include accented letters and other characters.

    The student will know that your comment applies to this specific page.

Audio comments are not available in all MindTap courses.

  1. To leave a written or audio comment at the activity level:
    1. Under the Recorded Score, click Add a comment.
    2. Click Write Comment or Record Comment.

Activities with comments display comments available.

  1. In the toolbar, click Progress.
  2. To display only activities that require manual grading, click Needs Manual Grading.

  3. Locate your activity and click Grade Now.

    Manually graded activities display Manually Graded.

  4. Click a student's name to view their attempt.

    Student names are listed in the Roster panel on the left, or in a dropdown list at the top of the assignment.

    Students with ungraded attempts are shown in the roster with Pending Grading next to their name.
