Add the National Geographic Learning Spark App to Your Blackboard Site

Spark uses LTI 1.3 and LTI Advantage to allow instructors and students to access the platform via their Blackboard course, without having to create a separate username and password.

Install the Spark App in Blackboard

1. In Blackboard, navigate to Administrator Tools › Integrations › LTI Tool Providers › Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.

   1. In the Client ID field, enter the following client ID:

      89c88c4d-bb35-4bfa-a6ba-17c2f54e3ce9

   2. Click Submit.

2. Copy the Deployment ID on this page. You will need this number later to complete the registration.

3. Under Institution Policies, ensure the following default global values are selected:

   Item	Value
   User Fields to Send	Role in Course For the best Spark experience, we recommend also selecting Name and Email Address.
   Allow Grade Service Access	Yes This allows grades to sync.
   Allow Membership Service Access	Yes This enables the Names and Roles service and course rostering data to sync.

   1. Click Submit.

Complete the Registration

1. Go to the registration email you received from National Geographic Learning.

2. Click Complete Registration located within the email.

   You will be taken to the National Geographic Learning LTI 1.3 Registration page.

3. In the Deployment ID field, paste or enter the Deployment ID number you copied from Step 2 above.

4. Click Complete Registration.
