Update Cengage Tool to LTI Advantage (Sakai 21.x and later)

If you are using Sakai 21.x or later, check if you have an existing Cengage tool that can be updated to LTI Advantage before registering a new one.

  1. Sign in to Sakai as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to Administration Workspace.

  3. Click External Tools from the Tool Menu.

  4. In the Installed Tools tab, locate the Cengage tool.

  5. Click Edit › Use LTI Advantage Auto Configuration.

  6. Copy the registration URL provided in the email from Cengage and paste into Auto Configuration URL.

  7. Enter or confirm the following settings:

    • In the tool settings, clear The tool URL can receive an LTI launch.
    • Set Launch in popup to Allow popup to be changed.

    • Enter the following Custom Parameters:

      context_id_history=$Context.id.history

      context_start_date=$CourseSection.timeFrame.begin

      context_end_date=$CourseSection.timeFrame.end

  8. Click Save.
