Accessibility and preferences options

Here you can learn how to change your preferences and how to make Human Anatomy Atlas more accessible.

Human Anatomy Atlas offers many different accessibility and preference options. These are in the settings menu at the bottom right of any screen.

  1. Background

Choose from black, white or grey backgrounds to adjust for viewability.

  2. Male/Female Model

Atlas features a complete female and male anatomy model. This setting toggles between them.

  3. Show Gestures

Turn this feature highlights user input with a blue circle.

  4. Closed captioning

If you’ve opted to have the animation pack in Atlas, this feature will turn on subtitles that match the audio. Subtitles are turned on by default for languages other than English.

  5. FPS 60

The app comes by default set to 30 frames per second to save battery for mobile users. For users with sensitivity to fast or jerky movements, this setting can be adjusted to FPS to 60 and the models will appear to move more smoothly.

  6. Language

Human Anatomy Atlas supports seven different languages: English, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish.

  7. On Start-up

This setting lets a user jump right back to where they were in the app, or get a fresh start. There's also a third option to ask which a user wants to do every time they open the app.

  8. Blank Tags

This setting removes the text from the tags feature. This allows users to create worksheets and self-study cards by tagging multiple structures with blank tags, and later filling in the blanks themselves.
