Create an External Tool in Moodle for LTI 1.0 Integration

Configure the LTI Tool

1. In Moodle, navigate to Site administration.

2. Click Plugins.

   1. Click Manage tools.

3. In the Add tool section, click Add Legacy LTI.

   1. Click configure a tool manually.

4. Under Tool settings, enter the following information:

   Field	Value
   Tool name	Create a name. We recommend NGL - program, level. Example: NGL - World Link 1
   Tool URL	https://learn.eltngl.com/lti/v1/launch
   Tool description	Optional: Write a description for the tool. You may leave blank.
   LTI Version	LTI 1.0/1.1
   Consumer key	The key you were given in the LTI connection document.
   Shared secret	The secret you were given in the LTI connection document.
   Custom parameters	isbn= the ISBN number for the program and level you were given in the LTI connection document. Example: isbn=9780357782811
   Tool configuration usage	Show as preconfigured tool when adding an external tool
   Default launch container	New window

5. Under Services, select the following information:

   Field	Value
   IMS LTI Assignment and Grade Services	Do not use this service
   IMS LTI Names and Role Provisioning	Use this service to retrieve members' information as per privacy settings
   Tool Settings	Use this service

6. Under Privacy, select the following information:

   Field	Value
   Share launcher's name with tool	Always
   Share launcher's email with tool	Always
   Accept grades from the tool	Never

7. Click Save changes.

Add the LTI Link to Your Course

1. In Moodle, navigate to your course.
