Use Read Aloud

Use Read Aloud to listen to eBook contents, including descriptive text for images. You can adjust the reading speed and voice.

How-ToInstructor Common Help

  1. In the sidebar, click Read Aloud.

    The Read Aloud menu opens.

  2. Adjust your Read Aloud settings.

    To do this:

    Adjust volume

    Use the Volume slider.

    Change reading speed

    1. Click Settings.
    2. Select a speed in Speed.

    Change the reading voice

    1. Click Settings.
    2. Select a narrator in Voice.

  3. Use Read Aloud to listen to the eBook.

    • To play, click Play.
    • To pause, click Play.
    • To stop playing and close Read Aloud, click Stop.
    • To jump back on the page, click backward.
    • To jump ahead on the page, click Forward.
    • To minimize the Read Aloud menu to the sidebar, click −.
    • To read selected text, highlight text and click Read Aloud in the pop-up menu.
