Change Student Password

When a student forgets their NGLSync password, change it for them. Students cannot reset their own passwords.
Note These instructions are for K–12 teachers who access and manage MindTap courses through NGLSync.

Due to privacy regulations, NGLSync does not collect or store student contact information. This means NGLSync cannot send students an email to reset their own passwords. Only teachers and admins can change student passwords.

  1. If needed, sign in to NGLSync at nglsync.cengage.com.
  2. Find the student whose password you want to change.

    If the student is enrolled in your course:

    1. Under the course you want to manage, open the Manage Course Toggle Dropdown menu and click Manage Students.
    2. Under Registered Students, click the student's name.

    If the student is not enrolled in your course:

    1. In the upper-left corner, click Menu > Students.
    2. Search for the student by name, username, or student number.
    3. Click the student's name in the search results.
    The Student page opens.
  3. Click Reset Password.
  4. Enter a new password in Password and repeat it in Confirm Password.
  5. Click Save.

Inform the student of their new password.
