Copy a Course in NGLSync

Create a new course by copying an existing course that you created, or a course created by a colleague in your district.

Note These instructions are for K–12 teachers who use NGLSync to manage their MindTap courses.
Note If your district uses Cengage bulk rostering services or a Single Sign-On (SSO) experience, your courses will be created and managed for you. Only teachers whose districts use self-enrollment or Google Classroom should create their own courses.

If you don't know if you should create a course in NGLSync, contact your technology coordinator.

Your new course uses the same product as the course you are copying.

Copied changes include:
  • Custom content and activities
  • Activity settings
  • Gradebook settings such as late penalties and category weighting
  • Removal of content and activities not on the syllabus
Note

Changes made to the original course after your new course is created do not affect your new course.

  1. Click Create Course.
  2. Select Copy a course and click Continue.
  3. Select the course you want to copy and click Continue.

Courses you previously created are listed under My courses. To copy a course created by someone else in your district, click the District courses tab.

Courses recommended by admins in your district are pinned to the top of your course list.

  4. Set the number of courses to create.
You can create up to 5 copies of this course at a time with the same product and settings.
  5. Enter your course details.
Enter your course name and set the school, teacher, and start and end dates.
  6. Set a student registration policy.
    • To allow open registration for the duration of the course, select Students can register for the course at any time. By default, you will receive an email when a student registers.
    • To limit open enrollment, select Students can register for the course at any time, but attempts after the registration deadline will be sent to you for approval.

If a student tries to join your course after your chosen date, you will receive an email notification and can approve or deny their request.

  7. Click Create course.
Your course is created in your learning platform and shown on your NGLSync My Courses page.
