Some WebAssign statistics questions include a button. Click the button to open SALT in a new tab with the dataset or frequency table defined by the WebAssign question. Use SALT to perform your statistical analyses. Then, enter your answers in the WebAssign question.

SALT Availability
Some statistics questions include a link to use the SALT data analysis tool. If needed, turn off these links or limit SALT functionality only to distribution calculators.
Cannot See Datasets in SALT
Datasets might not load or transfer properly in SALT questions if browser extensions are enabled. They can disrupt the data transfer in SALT even if it initially appears successful.
Select a Dataset
Use the Dataset tab to select, preview, and edit the data used for SALT operations. Choose from existing datasets or upload your own Csv data. When opening SALT from a WebAssign question, the dataset for that question is automatically selected.
Upload Data
Upload a Csv file from your device to the SALT website to perform analyses.
Download Dataset
Download existing Csv files from the SALT dataset hub site to a local device.
Frequency and Contingency Tables
Some WebAssign questions display frequency or contingency tables instead of dataset values when you click .
Edit Variables
To add or remove the dataset variables used for statistical operations, or to use a numerical variable categorically, edit the variables. The filtered data can also be saved to create a new dataset.
