Create an Activity with Question Pools

To give each student a different version of your activity, use pools of related questions. Each student is given their own set of questions randomly selected from the pool.

Note This feature is only available for the latest MindTap version.
  1. At the top of the learning path, click + Activity > Activity.
  2. Click Create New > Create Activity with Question Pools.
  3. Enter a title in Activity title and click Save.
  4. Click + Create Pool.
  5. To add questions from the question bank, click  Browse Question Bank.
    1. Optional: Filter the question bank to find questions you want.
      Browse questions by:
      • Question Type
      • Question Source
      • Categorization
      • Difficulty
      • Chapter/Subchapter
      • Certification
    2. Optional: To search question content, enter your search criteria in Find by content and click Search.
    3. To preview a question, click Preview.

      To view the question answer, click Check Answer.

    4. To view more questions, click  Previous or Next  at the top or bottom of the question list.
    5. Select questions and click Add Question(s).
    6. Click  Back to return to the activity editor.
  6. To create and add your own question, click + Create Question.
    1. Click Add New.
    2. Click a question type and add your question.
    3. Click Save.
      Your question is added to your activity.
    4. Click  Back to return to the activity editor.
  7. In Number of questions to deliver, enter how many randomly selected questions from the pool each student should be given.
  8. Optional: To give the same question to all students, create a question pool with a single question and set Number of questions to deliver to 1.
  9. Continue adding question pools until your activity has all the questions you want.
  10. To view a sample version of your activity, click Preview.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Optional: To schedule your activity now, click Assign This Activity.
    You can also schedule your activity later from the Activity Bank.
    1. On the Assignment Details tab, enter your assignment information.
    2. On the Settings tab, select an activity type in the Activity Settings Template dropdown to apply a set of scoring and feedback settings.

      If needed, adjust your settings.

    3. Optional: On the Student Accommodations tab, set any student accommodations for this activity.
    4. When you are finished, click Save All.
    5. Set the activity's location on the learning path in Folder and Placement.
    6. Click Save.
