The Student Assistant is a generative AI assistant that provides students with guidance, but it will not reveal answers. It offers personalized feedback based on the student's input, the topic they are working on and the Cengage textbook used in your course. It will not use material outside of Cengage.
The Student Assistant is not available for all CNOWv2 courses, activity types or question types. On compatible questions, students can click Student Assistant to open the tool.
Enable at the Course Level
The Student Assistant will be automatically enabled for all new Homework assignments. Existing Homework assignments will not be affected, but you can turn the setting on for individual assignments.
- Click the Courses tab.
- Locate a course and click Edit.
- Select Student Assistant.
- Click Save.
Enable or Disable at the Assignment Level
Enable or disable the Student Assistant for an individual assignment.
- Click the Assignments tab.
- Locate the assignment and click Edit.
- Click Student Assistant.
- Select or deselect On.
- Click Publish.
