Create Assignment Templates from Existing Assignments
Create a new assignment template from an existing assignment to reuse its settings for other assignments.
Apply Assignment Templates to Existing Assignments
You can apply an assignment template to multiple assignments without having to open each assignment individually. This lets you quickly update a group of assignments to use the same assignment settings, including category, submissions, randomization, and learning tools and feedback settings.
Assignments
Assignments are the work you do for your class in WebAssign, and might include homework assignments, labs, quizzes, or tests, depending on your instructor.
Assignments
In WebAssign, you create, update, and manage your assignments independent of a class context. Then, schedule your assignments to one or more course sections to assign work to your students.

The Assignments list on the Schedule page shows your assignments.
Reschedule Assignments
You can change dates for your scheduled assignments on the Reschedule Assignments page.

Search for Questions to Add to Assignments
Use multiple criteria to search for questions to add to your assignments. You can add a mix of different types of questions to your assignment, like multiple-choice, physPad, and numerical. You can add questions that another instructor shared with you using a permission group. Or, you can add questions that use a specific term in the question or answer key.
Post-Lab Assignments
After the lab is finished, every student should complete a post-lab assignment that both reinforces the lessons learned in the lab and assesses students' understanding of the material individually. Post-lab assignments should not be available to students until after the lab period is over.
Reorder Assignments With the Same Due Date
When you have scheduled more than one assignment to a section with the exact same due date and time, you can change the order in which those assignments are listed.
Add Questions You Created to Assignments
Add questions you created in WebAssign to your assignments.

You can include videos and other instructional content in the assignment instructions to prepare students before they begin the assignment. This is useful for homework, in class, and practice assignments.
Rescore Assignments for Courses
If a problem with assignment scoring affects many students in one or more sections of your class, rescore the assignment for the entire class. For LMS-integrated courses, a rescore also syncs scores to your LMS. Rescoring is faster than a manual sync because it syncs only the rescored assignments.
Rescore Assignments for Affected Students
If a problem with assignment scoring affects only one or a few students, do not rescore the assignment for the entire class. Instead, rescore the assignment just for the affected students. For LMS-integrated courses, a rescore also syncs scores to your LMS. Rescoring is faster than a manual sync because it syncs only the rescored assignments.

Disable Automatic Extensions for Individual Assignments
If you have automatics extensions enabled for your class, you can disable them for individual assignments. This is useful for quizzes or other assessments.
Rescore Assignments
Your students' work on assignments is scored automatically when they submit it using the assignment's Scoring Answers setting. This behavior ensures that your students' assignments are scored correctly based on the assignment your student completed. However, you might need to occasionally rescore an assignment. When an assignment's Scoring Answers setting is set to Last , you can rescore the assignment to use the best answer for each question part instead of scoring using the last submission. When an assignment's Scoring Answers setting is set to any value other than Last , you can only rescore the assignment using your current setting for the assignment.
Relative Dates on the Reschedule Assignments Page
On the Reschedule Assignments page, changed due dates are rescheduled based on the day of the week, and other assignment date changes are made relative to the due date. These changes could have small impacts on how dates are recalculated if you copy rescheduled assignments from one section to another. Always review and update scheduling for assignments that have been copied from another section.
Add Questions from Public Collections to Assignments
Add questions to your assignments from the publicly available question collections. Question collections include questions contributed by other WebAssign instructors and are organized by subject classification.
Rescore Assignments That Have a Changed Question
If you need to change a question that you have already scheduled in an assignment — for example, to correct your answer or allow alternative correct responses — rescore assignments containing the question after you save it. For LMS-integrated courses, a rescore also syncs scores to your LMS. Rescoring is faster than a manual sync because it syncs only the rescored assignments.
Schedule Assignments for Multisection Courses
Generally, when you schedule assignments for multisection courses, you first schedule the assignments you want to a single section and then add new sections to your course. Each new section copies the original section.

Tutorial and Practice Assignments
Instead of simply giving homework that has only a vague pedagogical focus, one approach to helping your students learn is to break this nebulous category of assignments into two different types of assignments with different pedagogical functions:
Add Honor Code Certification to Assignments
Sometimes, you want your students to certify that they have completed an assignment on their own or that they have followed your school's honor code. You can add a question to your assignment that asks your students to certify that they have complied with an honor code or that they did not receive help with their assignment.
Can't Open Class or Submit Assignments
You can't open your class or submit assignments. Other problems might also be related to this issue.

You can add security and time restrictions to an assignment, require students to pass one or more prerequisite assignments before starting work on an assignment, or schedule an assignment to be completed as group work.

Weight Individual Assignments in Your Gradebook
After you set up your GradeBook and schedule assignments, you can adjust how individual assignments are weighted in the category average calculations.
Pre-Lab Assignments
Before beginning an experiment, your students should know lab safety procedures and be familiar with the equipment and materials they will be using. You might also want to ensure that your students have read information in the textbook beforehand, so they can gain the most benefit from their time in the lab. Assigning a pre-lab quiz covering such information helps motivate your students to be prepared before they enter the lab.
Copy an Assignment
Copy and edit your own assignments, Course Pack assignments that you added, or assignments that have been shared with you.
