Link to Your Cengage Textbook From Moodle

Link to the eBook from your Moodle™ course for easy access for you and your students.

Important Do not use this procedure if your Moodle course is integrated with Cengage courseware like MindTap, SAM, or WebAssign.

This procedure might not be available for your school. Alternatively, see Other/Manual.

  1. Open your Moodle course.
  2. Click actions menu > Turn editing on.
  3. Click Add an activity or resource.
  4. Select the Cengage tool and click Add.

    The Cengage tool is created and named by your Moodle administrator.

  5. Under General, click Select content.
    Note The Activity Name and Tool URL are set automatically after selecting the content.
  6. First time for each Moodle course: Select the academic term and click Submit.
  7. If prompted, sign in to your Cengage instructor account to link your Moodle and Cengage accounts.

    If you don't have a Cengage instructor account, request one here.

  8. On the Integrate with Cengage page, click Select eBook Only.
  9. On the Select Title page, select the textbook to use in your class.
    • To search the available content, type a search term.
    • To filter the list by license type, click License Type and select Student Purchase Required or Inclusive Access.
    1. Depending on the book, click either Link Full eBook or Link Individual Chapters > Link Full eBook.
    2. Click Continue.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. Save your changes at the bottom of the page.

    Click either Save and return to course or Save and display.
