Create an NGLSync Account and Enroll in a Cengage Course
If you do not have an NGLSync account, use the course registration link to create your account and enroll in your Cengage course.
Remove Students
If you used student self-enrollment or manually added students to your NGLSync roster, you can remove students from your NGLSync roster.
Student ID Number Already Used
When you try to create a student account, you are told the student's number is already in use. If the student tries to create their own account, they are told they already have an account.
Manage Students
Change your students' passwords and edit profile information such as names, usernames, and student identification numbers. Students cannot edit their own profile information.

Change a student's username, ID number, and name.
Change Student Password
Due to privacy regulations, NGLSync does not collect or store student contact information. This means NGLSync cannot send students an email to reset their own passwords. View Students
If needed, sign in to NGLSync at nglsync.cengage.com . Under the course you want to manage, open the Manage Course menu and click Manage Students . Your Course page opens. Share Your Course With Students
Give students your course key so they can create an NGLSync account and enroll in your Cengage course at nglsync.cengage.com/register .
Sign Out
Protect your NGLSync account by signing out when you are finished.
Add Students
Students can be added to your NGLSync roster in multiple ways, depending on how your school district is set up.
Add Students from Google Classroom
Link your NGLSync course to your Google Classroom class to add students. Students access their course directly from Google Classroom and do not need to use a separate username and password.

Enroll in a Cengage Course
Enroll in your Cengage course using its course key (WebAssign: class key) at nglsync.cengage.com/register .
Cengage Bulk Rostering
If your school district uses Cengage bulk rostering services or a Single Sign-On (SSO) system, your district technology coordinator works with Cengage to enroll students in your course. To add or remove a student from your NGLSync course, contact your district technology coordinator.
Google Classroom Access Blocked
When students try to launch your course from Google Classroom, they see the error message Access blocked: Your institution's admin needs to review NGLSync.

Under the course you want to manage, open the Manage Course menu and click Manage Students . Click Add Students . Under Manual Registration , click Add Students Manually . If a student account was archived in error, activate it to restore the student's access to course materials.

If your school uses Cengage bulk rostering services, students are not listed in the MindTap gradebook until they access their MindTap course.
Require Approval for Student Registration
Requiring registration approval deters cheating from students with duplicate accounts. If your course uses self-registration and does not require registration approval, some students may try to cheat by enrolling a fake account in your course to access assignments before taking them under their real name. When you click a link to a MindTap for K–12 course or activity from your LMS, the link doesn't open a new browser window with the course or learning activity.

Students Asked for Payment
Your K–12 school district has purchased access to Cengage for its students, but when students create accounts and sign in at the main Cengage home page, they are told their trial access will expire and asked for payment.

Enable student self-registration for your Cognero classes to allow students to register for your class and access assignments.
Student Groups
Create student groups to quickly apply different settings to certain students when assigning work. Groups can be used to give students different start and due dates, additional attempts on questions, and additional assignments. After creating a group, you can rename it, add or remove students, or remove the group entirely.

Upload Cengage Roster
