Create a Cengage account to access your
products and set up your course. Don't create an account if you use a learning management
system (LMS) like Schoology® or Canvas™ to access
your learning platform. After your first sign in on these platforms, an account is
automatically created for you.
Note If you teach at multiple
institutions, create a separate account for each institution.
Otherwise, you should have only one Cengage account.
Cengage partners with SheerID® to verify your identity.
Go to login.cengage.com .
Click Create Account .
When asked if you're a student, click No .
Enter your institutional email address and click
Next .
Select your institution and click Next . Show more Show less
If you cannot find your institution:
Click My School Isn't Listed .
Enter the information needed to verify your institution.
School name
School address
City
Zip code
Your email address
Click Submit .
Cengage will verify your institution and email you
when it has been added.
Click Register and continue creating your
account.
Enter the requested information and select your

If you cannot find your institution:
Select I could not find my institution .
Enter the information Cengage needs to verify your
institution:
Your institution's name and location
Your supervisor's name, email address, and phone number
Cengage will verify your information and add your institution to the
list of available institutions.
Read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Click Verify . Show more Show less
Cengage uses SheerID to
verify your identity and role as an instructor to prevent fraudulent account
creation. Many users are instantly verified.
If you are not instantly verified:
Upload a school-issued document from the current year showing your name
and your school.
A screenshot from your institution's online portal or
learning management system showing your current courses
(most popular for adjunct professors)
A copy of your instructor ID
A link to your instructor profile on your institution's
website
A pay stub dated within the past 90 days
An official letter from your institution stating that you are
an active instructor
Click Submit .
You will be notified of your results in the next 20 minutes.
If your identity is not verified, you can resubmit proof of identity
two more times.
If SheerID cannot verify your identity, contact Cengage customer support by phone and we will try to verify your identity
manually.
If your identity has not been verified, you cannot access
instructor-only features.
Open the activation email and click Activate
Cengage Account .
If you did not receive an activation email, check your
Spam and Junk folders for an
email from no-reply@ciammail.cengage.com.
Type a password in both password fields, then click
Set Password .
Note
Your password must contain:
at least 8 characters
a lowercase letter
an uppercase letter
a number
no parts of your username
