Edit Questions

Remove unwanted questions, rewrite questions to better meet your students' needs, and reinforce learning with customized feedback.

Important Question editing and authoring is not available for all courses.

Question editing and authoring is not available for all activities.

  1. At the top of the activities list, turn on Edit​ .
  2. Click  Edit next to an activity.
  3. At the bottom of the activity settings editor, click Edit Activity Options.
  4. To expand a question, click Expand.
    To do this Do this
    Delete a question, response, or feedback Click Delete next to the content you want to remove.
    Edit text Click the text you want to change and enter your new text. You can edit:
    • Assignment names
    • Question names
    • Question text
    • Multiple-choice and multiple-select responses
    Edit fill-in-the-blank questions Click Edit answers and feedback next to the fill-in-the-blank answer. A menu displays all fill-in-the-blank responses and feedback.
    Add a response Click  Add Another Response and enter your new response.
    Change the correct response

    Select a response to mark it as correct.

    Correct responses display or . Incorrect responses display or .
    Give feedback for a question In Overall Feedback, enter your feedback. Students will see your feedback after any response.
    Give feedback for a specific response Click Feedback next to a response and enter feedback. Students who select this response will see your feedback.
    Reorder questions Click Move on a question and drag the question to move it.
  5. Optional: To close the question editor and collapse the question, click Collapse.
  6. Click Save and Close to save your activity changes and close the activity editor.

    Edit an activity on the learning path Click Activity context menu > Edit activity title and content.

    1. Click + Activity > Activity >  Add from Activity Bank.
    2. Click an activity.
    Create a new activity
    1. Click + Activity > Activity > Create New.
    2. Click either Create Activity or Create Activity with Question Pools.
  2. If you did not create the original activity, click Copy to Edit to create your own version of the activity.
    Your version replaces the original activity on the learning path.
  3. Click a question title.
  4. If you did not create the original question, click Copy to Edit to create your own version of the question.
    • Click Keep Both to keep both the original and your new version of the question in your activity.
    • Click Copy and Replace to replace the original question with your new version of the question in your activity.
    The activity editor shows your new version of the question in the question list.
  5. Click the title of your new question.
  6. Click Edit to open the question editor.
  7. Edit your question.
    Your options depend on the question type:
  8. Click Save.
